Arizona Extremist Candidate Kelly Cooper: 

Federal Law Enforcement ‘Exactly’ Like Hitler’s Gestapo

Arizona congressional candidate Kelly Cooper said that federal agents are behaving like the Nazi regime’s SS or Gestapo during an appearance on a fringe right-wing podcast.

Last week, Cooper appeared on extremist Sherronna Bishop’s podcast, which is hosted on My Pillow Guy Mike Lindell’s Frank Speech platform.  Bishop is the former campaign manager of Congresswoman Lauren Boebert, who—like Cooper—is a fringe figure who has spread conspiracy theories suggesting that the 2020 election was stolen.

During their discussion, Bishop said that the IRS “sounds a lot like the SS or the Gestapo that was used in tyrannical governments before.  Is that extreme?  Is that an extreme way to see this situation, do you think?”

Cooper replied: “I don’t think so at all.  I think that this is, based on history what we’ve seen so far these last two years, that feels exactly like what this is.  And I don’t mean to be alarmist or conspiracy theory [sic].”

The Gestapo is the shortened name for Geheime Staatspolizei, the Nazi Germany police force that rounded up Jews and Adolf Hitler’s political opponents for deportation to extermination camps before and during World War II.
