Mesa Mayor Giles Endorses Stanton for
Re-Election
Friday, September 9, 2022
PHOENIX—Republican Mesa Mayor John Giles has endorsed Rep. Greg Stanton for re-election, saying the second-term congressman’s bipartisan approach is what Arizona needs.
“I support Greg Stanton for re-election for a simple reason: He puts Arizona first,” said Mayor John Giles. “As a Republican mayor, it’s important to know that I can call up my Democratic congressman and get the same response every time: ‘How can I help?’ Greg has been an incredible partner for Mesa and I look forward to continuing to work with him—across party lines—to make our city the very best it can be.”
Stanton has been a reliable partner for Mesa—and has delivered results that have improved the city’s economy. He secured $14.4 million to build a new terminal at Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport and another $10 million for a new air traffic control tower.
Stanton is running for re-election in one of the nation’s most competitive congressional districts, Arizona’s new Fourth District, which includes Ahwatukee, Tempe, Chandler and Mesa.
