Stanton Highlights Record of Standing up to Big Pharma in Second TV Spot of Re-Election Campaign
Tuesday, September 27
PHOENIX—U.S. Rep. Greg Stanton today unveiled the second television spot of his re-election campaign, which highlights his record of taking on Big Pharma in Congress and as Phoenix mayor.
The spot will begin to air on broadcast today.
Stanton has refused to accept any contributions from Big Pharma since he first ran for Congress. And in Congress, he has passed multiple pieces of legislation to deliver lower prices for consumers by creating more competition and limiting price gouging within the pharmaceutical industry. Through the passage of the Inflation Reduction Act, Medicare will have the ability to negotiate for lower drug prices, saving Arizonans tens of millions of dollars.
As mayor of Phoenix, Stanton sued opioid manufacturers who were contributing to the nation’s opioid addiction epidemic.
Stanton is running in Arizona’s new Fourth Congressional District—which includes the East Valley communities of Ahwatukee, Tempe, Chandler and Mesa—one of the most competitive congressional districts in the nation.
